Super creepy to find someone occupying your room! Esp. opening the door to a hideous smell.

Actually that happened to B and I once. We opened the door and there was this "shape" in the bed. Seriously, at that moment we felt like we were in a horror film. (And there wasn't even a smell, just a shape, but that was bad enough.) Anyway, sounds like it worked out pretty well for your party. We were issued a free drink voucher, but the bar closed early and we never got our free drink. :(

Hah! An adventure. We are about to embark on a two-and-a-half-week road trip ourselves, so I'll be carrying the image of the overimbiber on the bed with me along the way... here's to adventures, as long as they end with lamb chops!

Dumdad - well, most places here have a very high standard, and this place was clean and everything, just ... not very well maintained. As for staying in business - as long as they're the only place(s) in the area, people will patronize their establishments because they don't have a choice.

Dorothy Gale - clearly you've never tried to pitch your tent during one of Niceland's infamous outdoor festivals! ;)

VioletSky - careful not to start drawing parallels - it could be vastly different!

James - the standards in Reykjavík are higher, because there is more competition here. As for Thesis - love it. Chris has just created an update which supposedly makes everything even easier, i.e. more features, less coding. There's a forum where Thesis users help each other out and it's a great community. I definitely don't regret shelling out the dosh.

Wow. I hope the standards in Reykjavik are a little higher. We'll be visiting for the film festival in September. By the way, how do you like the Thesis WordPress theme? I'm considering shelling out the money for it, but you're the first site I've come across actually using it. I'd love some feedback.

That's why we go wild-camping. At least, we always know what to expect, and there's never anybody passed out on the place where we wanted to pitch the tent.

I thought everything in Niceland was, well, nice and clean and new!

I'd have been furious, though, if I'd driven there with my family and discovered that sort of chaos. Don't these people want to stay in business?!
