My radio alarm woke me this morning with the Korea Iceland game, I knew that this was a bad sign for Iceland so I pressed snooze hoping it would end before it came back on- I am the jinx, if I watch or listen to a game I know that they will lose. Sorry Iceland, I heard the last 30 seconds….. I promise to lock myself up in a dark room when the Denmark game is on.

I made no friends and a few new enemies as I sat in the bar (drinking sodavatn!) in my Ósóma sheep shirt with my little flag from Tiger rooting for Ísland. Not that I'm a fan of handbolta; I'm not. And putting the Icelandic players' surnames on their shirts is just wrong.

Jessie – yes, they put on a spectacular show, but so have all the other countries that have hosted the Olympics. Personally I’m more impressed by something that is real, than by something fake – even if it looks better.

Professor – Indeed.

Jon – indeed, indeed.

Carol – it was on Icelandic state TV. They had this guy giving a statement saying that there HAD been fireworks but it had been such a cloudy evening they MAY have had to be enhanced … lol. – As for being found out, it seems like they really don’t care. This is how they do things over there. Anything to keep up the facade.

Cama – I agree, they are scary precisely because they can’t be trusted. How is it possible to trust a nation that lies constantly and censors just about everything?

Congrats to Iceland in the Olympics!!! As for the Chinese, they faked us in some pet food additives and caused death to hundreds of our pets in North America a few years ago. Sad for us in the USA as so much of our food additives, vitamins, toys loaded with lead paint, and much more are bought from there and sold here. It feels like they can’t be trusted. To me they are a scary super power looming on the horizon. However…. I just love Chinese take out food….!!!!

I wondered about all the fireworks and the smoke it leaves. WHERE did you find that out; I’ll be the toast of the town if I can quote you/it.

Do the Chinese really think they can do all this and not get found out?
