I’ve been taking a breather, figuring out where I want to go with this blog and trying to get some perspective. I am still in the process of sorting my thoughts; however, I know that if I am to continue with this exercise I need to make a few changes.
First of all, my liberal approach to commenting and discussion has gone the way of the free-market economy. In practical terms that means I’ve decided to close all comments on posts. I may make exceptions on individual entries but those will be exceptions. Obviously I reserve the right to change my mind about this at any time, but I don’t expect that to happen in the foreseeable future.
I think it’s important for people to keep in mind that this is a personal blog and it expresses personal opinions. It is not an online newspaper, it does not claim to know THE TRUTH about any particular topic, and its coverage of many issues is limited. It does not purport to be anything else.
If you’d like to send me a message and say something uplifting, you might very well make my day. If you note a gross inaccuracy in anything I write, I’d appreciate it if you would contact me and let me know. If you wish to discuss anything I write further, feel free to post about it in the forums [although I would ask you to please respect the posting guidelines]. If you want to argue, then please do so on your own blog. You can leave a trackback to the post if you want.
I expect that posting to the blog will be lighter than it has been in the last while; on the other hand I’ve been getting to know Twitter and will be posting short updates over the course of the day. You can follow me on Twitter if you want, or alternatively log on to the blog to see the updates in the sidebar on the right.
Finally, a big THANK YOU again to those of you who cast your votes in the 2009 Bloggies — Best European Weblog went to C&Z, as I had suspected it would!
