Mary / Dave - Well, STEP-grandmother, actually. But well on my way to becoming a family matriarch. :)

I was glad when I read in the newspaper this morning about the kreppaboom. I had been wondering about all of these pregnant women I have been seing, asking myself "haven't I been noticing pregnant ladies before, or are there unusually many of them these days here in Iceland". What a relief, it's official, it's not just me imagining there is a kreppaboom.
I was talking to a pregnant young woman this morning and she said that she already had two kids so how much more difficult could it be to have three? I kind of had to agree with her.

Of course, the baby-making is free; it's the baby-raising that might be tough in the kreppa age!

@ alda
No I am not. I am an avid reader of Naked Capitalism and your blog. Naked Capitalism is one of the leading 'econoblogs', a source of economical information that has become increasingly popular over the past few years after more & more people decided the newspapers were total crap at writing articles about economical issues. In my view Naked Capitalism and Calculated Risk are by far the best.
As for your blog. It isn't really economical. And it is. You describe life in Iceland. You have a perspective from having lived abroad. Yet you are not a foreigner passing through having to produce X lines on Iceland sufficiently juicy to make readers want to read about it. Economics is also people. You describe people.
