The government’s “truth commission” – a parliamentary committee investigating the economic collapse – called a press conference this morning and announced that the so-called Black Report, due to be released on February 1, would be delayed. Again.
It was first due to appear in November, but its release was put off as the task turned out to be bigger than originally believed.
The committee gives the same reason as last time — that the task is larger and more extensive in scope than originally thought. They added that high-ranking officials implicated in the report will be given a chance to refute the claims made against them before it is published [hmm ... should we be worried?]. They will have two weeks to respond to those claims.
The scheduled release date is now somewhere around the turn of the months February-March. Oh, joy. Icesave referendum AND Black Report around the same time. Can you say CIVIL UNREST?
