Disgraced moguls and frantic damage control

by alda on January 18, 2010

A couple of months ago I wrote a post about how a certain video showing footage from the so-called “Baugur Day” – a mutha of a staff party held by one of Iceland’s disgraced companies – disappeared after it began creating a buzz on blogs and websites here in Iceland.

Now a similar situation has occurred – after Egill Helgason posted a link on his blog last Friday to the website of Carol Ward Events* showing the various ex-moguls in flagrant party mode, the site is suddenly “down for maintenance” and the page in question does not exist.

Hmmmm.

* Perhaps someone should give Carol Ward Events a spelling lesson – if you click on the link, the name of the site in the browser [very top of the screen] appears as “Carol Ward Evnet”. – Perhaps that’s why it’s down for maintenance.

A quick inspection of the following – Page 55 – will show that Landsbanki alone has written off around $10bn mainly in Iceland, which you can be sure are loans given /foregiven to friendly parties:

Looks like the River Crabs (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harmonious_society#River_crab) are in action up there.
