To swallow or not to swallow, redux

by alda on January 5, 2010

Interesting video from Channel 4 in the UK on the Icesave debate [albeit prior to the president's veto]. Particularly interesting to see Davíð Oddsson claiming the Icelandic state could “swallow” those debts if worse came to worst. Need it be said that Doddsson is now one of the most vehement opponents of the Icesave bill?

God save us from the return to power of those Independence Party clowns who sold us down the river.

Stormy waters ahead Icelanders as they could go for your lines of credit with the IMF, lean on your fellow Scandos over in Dennmark,Norway Sweden over various loans, plus that EU membership application thing.Alda is worried about the IP getting back in well the Dutch and British Govermentos dont really care if its David or Johanna that pays them the money. You just need a big idea as in The Aluminium saved you from the Fish, the Banks Saved you from the Aluminium and now fresh Ideas to save you from the Banks,–server farms, tourism boost etc.

Talking of clowns, Iceland can save itself a few bob by getting rid of the EU clowns. I’m sorry, but any government that thinks importing French Green party MEPs must need to take a serious look at itself.

I didn’t know that God appoints members of Parliament and government ministers :-)
I assumed it was up to people of Iceland.

Frankly, I would rather join China as a special territory (Northern Honkong) ;-)
