So, not exactly a big turnout today for the protests – just over 100 people showed up at City Hall when the sale of HS Orka was debated, and subsequently passed.
Numbers dwindled as the debate wore on [it took three hours] — although protesters made progressively more noise. Right at the end there was a scuffle in which three guys were arrested, apparently for throwing a roll of toilet paper from the balcony into the main hall, and subsequently resisting arrest.
It’s just so draining. Seriously, I can see why people just throw in the towel and become complacent.
As for YT, I plan to crawl under a blanket in the sofa and watch an episode or two of Mad Men: Season 2. I’m sure following the antics of chauvinistic ad men puffing on cigarettes and cheating on their wives will be just the thing to take my mind off the machinations of the Independence Party in 2009 Iceland. Meh.
