Looking for Kaupthing Edge depositors

A few weeks back I wrote a post in which I asked any Icesave depositors to get in touch. [Thanks again to those of you who did!]

This time around I’m looking for people who deposited money in Kaupthing Edge. I’m primarily interested in how you heard about it, your experience using it [the online experience – registration, login, interface and so on] and what happened when it collapsed.

If there is anyone out there who would be willing to share their story with me, please send me a quick email, or use the form on the site. It’s for a project I’m working on – I’ll explain in more detail when/if you get in touch.

Thank you!!

Storm clouds brewing, threat of some serious rain, but thankfully – hopefully – the storm has passed. Yes, I’m being allegorical … today the collective Icelandic nation held its breath when Eva Joly threatened to quit as special adviser to the government on the investigation into the bank collapse. We’re hoping all will be well in the end … i.e. that Ms Joly’s two very clear demands will be met: for the State Prosecutor to step down [he’s unfit due to family connections], and for more funds to be allocated to the investigation. [Blogs and Facebook are abuzz right now with the insistence that the government get on the case INSTANTLY. She must not abandon us!] Right now cloudy yet bright, temps 8°c [46F], sunrise was at 3.04 am, sunset at 11.52.

Frettabladid asks their readers if they agree with Eva Jolys demand for more resources for the investigation. At present 93.6% agree – so there is no question about the popular opinion in this matter. Seems like the government is responding too, at least the State Prosecutor has now been removed form “kreppa” cases. Joly will be giving lecture here in my town soon, so I guess I must ask her a question or two about her strategy 🙂

I was thinking of opening a Kaupthing Edge deposit account last summer (because it offered an interest rate of just over 7%), but didn’t due to inertia. Sometimes, laziness has its benefits! One of my friends, a Dutch guy working at an American bank in London, successfully transferred out all his Kaupthing Edge funds a few days before it crashed; I’ll email him a link to this article and he may contact you.

Snowball – thanks for the link – that’s a good site.

    Lee – takk!!

While I realise as I speak Dutch/Flemish I should be able to read German as well, I pretty much suck at it. But the site Snowball linked to, really seems informative. Petty I understand so little of it.

Still, whenever reading your (Alda’s) latest post, asking people to email you about their troubles, I still can’t shake the Monty Python image of you replying ‘Neener neener’… While it would be so rude, crude, harsh … you name it…. the (context) mental image would still makes me LMAO ….
…. maybe I’ve just been reading those lolcats (icanhascheezburger.com) too much :p

I hope, Eva Joly is not going to leave you.

As for the search for Kaupthing Edge depositors – the mentioned site is certainly good to have your request repeated, but it is only about Kaupthing Edge Germany. It is an endless story here.

I have filled out your form being a Kaupthing Edge depositor myself.
