The IP-PP bromance turns sour

Ah, everyone, these are farcical days in Icelandic politics. Old Sigmundur Davíð Gunnlaugsson still hasn’t formed a government, he made a decision that he would speak to the heads of all the other parties first, and of course the pundits have been having a field day interpreting just what this means. Meanwhile, the Independence Party is reportedly livid, first for not being given the mandate to form the government despite having won a majority at the polls last weekend, and then because SDG didn’t come running to them instantly to form a coalition.

But why bother with words? Here is a photographic representation of the soured romance between the IP and the PP over the last week.

All of which obviously begs the question: if they can’t get along now, what the frick is going to happen once they’re married?

[Photos filched from here, here and here. I can’t guarantee that those pics were taken in chronological order, but they capture the general mood perfectly.]
