Searching for Icesave depositors

Dear readers, I need your help: I am looking to get in touch with people who had deposits in Landsbanki’s Icesave accounts.

If  you are an Icesave depositor and would be willing to share your experiences with me, I would love to hear from you. Similarly, if you know of anyone who had money in Icesave, please pass this on.

It’s for a project I’m working on, which I will explain in more detail to those depositors who get in touch. You can contact me either through the form on this site, or by email.

Thank you!

It was totally back to winter this morning, with a thick layer of snow over everything. The sun was out, though, and it was very bright; in fact this is the first day I’ve used my sunglasses since last summer. There was hardly any wind here in the capital and people flocked to the slopes for skiing; meanwhile the radio kept warning people about conditions in the north, which to our ears sounded completely incongruous and remote. Until this afternoon, that is, when the wind picked up and snowdrifts started and it became horrendously cold. Right now it feels more like the dead of winter than imminent spring. Right now -5°C and nasty windchill [23F]. Sunrise at 6:56 am, sunset at 8.10 pm.

David Oddsson likens his dismissal from Central Bank to the crucifixion of Christ
Oddsson was dismissed so that the bankers could be saved from all their sins and be free of punishment. Fortunately, God changed his mind and hired Eva Joly…

“David Oddsson likens his dismissal from Central Bank to the crucifixion of Christ”

I am impressed by his modesty. With such an (self proclaimed) martyr at hand it shouldn’t take long until some clever Icelander is opening some pilgrimage business – in addition to the ‘hidden people tours’ – and setting up some kind of Camino del St. Davíð leading to the Central Bank shrine.

Is it only Icesave despositors you are after or do Kaupþing customers count, too (eg. Kaupthingedge Germany)?

LDE – at this point, just Icesave. That may change, though.

Totally off point — we just saw Emiliana Torrini perform in San Francisco last night. Great show! We have 3 of her cd’s because of your great description of her music, and her live show was really nice. She is so funny and has such a beautiful voice.

Oddson got dumped? When did that happen? I thought he owned the place.

    Sorry about the snow.

Alison – great! She sure gets around, though, because my stepdaughter just saw her in NYC two nights ago. 🙂

Joe – I thought he owned the place. — whatever gave you that idea?

Just found some allegoric picture on the subject of “Icesave”:

LDE – haha! That is a GREAT photo. Looks like something post-nuclear explosion.
